WOE ME, WOE ME

I was idle one day,
floating in a day dream sea of nothingness,
when a knock uprooted me from that realm.
I flung open the door and
Stupidity came whirling in
all full of fun and fancy.
We were melting into heated romance when
Foolishness stopped by too,
with her live-for-the-moment attitude.
We were all ménage ŕ tróised,
blinded by sublime bliss when
Idiocy took us each in turns.
The party grew in numbers-
Procrastination,
Laziness,
Ignorance-
They all showed up.
Soon we were a writhing entity,
an orgy of unimportance.
But, alas,
Self-discipline came home early (he never does that!),
and caught me red-handed,
cheating and cheating, and he was appalled
(cheating and cheating)
and left me for good that time,
taking our babies,
(He took my babies!)
Responsibility and Success.
What am I without
Self-discipline, Responsibility or Success?
Woe me,
Call me failure!
