AND THE MOON CRIES

And the night passes on once more
In silence and in solitude
And as the moon grows weaker
Her light fading, she asks...
What for?

She cries, and her tears fall
Leaving peices of her in the liquid sky
Black ink fading to blue
Reflecting off land and shore

And the morning dew sparkles
Presenting rainbows to the sun's power
The moon's teardrops on blades of grass
She's suffered before

Yet as the sun falls away
Reborn is she who cries
She who tucks in our souls
Who passes on unnoticed and ignored
The stars around her nothing more

Than tear streaks upon her cheeks

She, who's beauty is unrecognized

She, who's whispered cries go unheard

She, who wonders...what for?
